Portable QSO party.
Bury Radio Society (BRS) hosted a QSO Party on Sunday, 23 August 2020.
BRS members operated either from their home QTH, or as /P from various socially distanced locations.
Between 10:00 and 12:00 BST, members called “CQ BRS QSO Party” using VHF FM close to 144.550 MHz.
Then, between 13:00 and 15:00 BST, members called in using HF close to 28.500 MHz.
Members used their own callsigns, although the club callsign G3BRS may also be on the air at times.
BRS Chairman, Peter Butterworth G0GPH, said:
“This is our first portable activity since COVID-19 curtailed our Club’s activities, so we are excited to restart things, albeit in a socially distanced and safe way. Some members will be up in the hills, whilst others are operating from home. We’re hoping not only to talk to the other club members involved on the day, but also to contact other radio hams.”
This proved a very successful and enjoyable afternoon for all.
